As usual, I'm late to the party, but when I go, I go big. I discovered travel hacking in late 2014. Since then, LOTS has changed in The Hobby, as some people insist on calling it. There is a big debate among points/miles collectors about sharing information in a public forum such as a blog like this one. Some folks insist that sharing even publicly available information is a big no-no (as if the THREE PEOPLE who read my blog are going to kill the deal). Dave and I started this blog because it became apparent as we shared our trips through social media that lots of people were interested to learn how two not-so-wealthy teachers managed to take some pretty spectacular international trips. It's not rocket science, but it does require some planning and some research. I enjoy the process and I enjoy helping people, so here we are.
Want to get started? Here's how:
Step One: Sign up for AwardWallet. If you use my link I'll get a few extra months added onto my Pro membership. I'd appreciate your support!
You could also use the promo code free-jkleit.
Step Two: Sign up for the major airline and hotel loyalty programs. I'd start with American, Alaska, Southwest, Delta, United, and British Airways on the airline side, and SPG, Hyatt, Marriott, IHG, and Hilton on the hotel side.
Step Three: Enter all your loyalty program details into AwardWallet to be tracked.
Come back when you're done...
